ESM PLAYERS present: Julius Caesar
by William Shakespeare
Rome, March, 44 BC.
Freshly appointed dictator of Rome for life, Julius Caesar, is warned – the Ides of March are to bring about a drastic career change for him. Yet, undaunted, Caesar ignores the warnings and is confronted with a group of wrathful senators, led by Brutus and Cassius. And it does not end well for Caesar. Mark Antony, who has formed a triumvirate with Octavius and Lepidus, vows to avenge Caesar’s death, unleashing the infuriated mob who takes to the streets...

The ESM Players (founded 2016) are an English-speaking youth theatre company, based in Munich, Germany. They are part of the school’s theatre programme in which students explore the various fields of professional theatre (acting, business team, directing, stage management, costume design, music, dance choreography, design etc.).
Each year, the ESM Players put on a Shakespeare production, directed by Conny Loder. Many of the team are long-standing members and have gained in-depth understanding as theatre practitioners. Several former members have moved on to participate in adult theatre, such as Entity Theatre. In recent years, ESM Players preformed open air at the Amphitheatre, Englischer Garten and at Galli Theater, Amalienpassage.
The previous shows include:
Midsummer Night’s Dream
Shakespeare’s Complete Works (abridged)
Romeo & Juliet: a digital adaptation
Much Ado About Nothing
