In November, the Kindergarten of the European School Munich started a fundraising campaign on the occasion of Saint Martin's Day. As every adult knows and -kindergarten children are learning anew, St. Martin shared his belongings with the needy. Following this example, Kindergarten children, parents and staff now collected food for the Münchner Tafel. The Tafel is an organisation that provides food weekly to over 20,000 people in Munich who could otherwise hardly afford to buy it.
This is the third year that the kindergarten has held a collection. This time, a particularly large amount of food came together, from pasta and flour to milk, tinned food and sweets. In the Corona pandemic, which is exacerbating the financial situation of many people, this is a valuable help. And of course the kindergarten children also learn an important lesson through such an action.
The European School Munich would like to thank Lisa Melessaccio for organising the event and the donors for their generosity.
Information about the Münchner Tafel can be found on their website.
