The ‘Europe Days’ (May 5 to May 9) are a highlight in the calendar of events of the European Schools. On these days, the European idea is brought to life in a special way that goes beyond the daily school life. At the same time, on 9 May, we also celebrate the anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, in which the French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman presented his idea of a European Community that would form the cornerstone of today's European Union.
The ‘Europe Days’ of the European School Munich are made possible above all by the great commitment of our students and teachers. In a wide range of events and workshops, we take a close look at the values and institutions of Europe.
Every year, the ESM also invites a keynote speaker from the fields of politics, business or culture who has a special connection with Europe. This year, we are honored to welcome the award-winning Italian writer, screenwriter and documentary filmmaker Francesca Melandri, whose works make a significant contribution to the examination of European history and identity. In her keynote speech, she will share her personal understanding of European values. This will be followed by a panel discussion with our students and an opportunity for the audience to ask questions.
