School First Aid Service
The school first-aid service independently provides emergency medical first aid at the European School Munich and documents the interventions. Its members are on site at concerts and sports festivals, for example. The ESM health service supports and advises the school paramedics in all matters.
Pupils who want to be involved in the first-aid service register at the beginning of the school year. They receive three days of training from Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe and learn how to provide qualified first aid in monthly training sessions. The focus is on emergencies that can occur repeatedly in the school environment, such as minor sports injuries. The knowledge is finally proven with a theoretical and practical examination.
All students in grades S4 to S7 who want to take on responsibility and further their education in medical and health-related topics can participate in the school first-aid service. They commit themselves to the service for one school year at a time.
More information on school first-aid services and training can be found on the Johanniter website. (DE)
