European Christmas

Christmas is the time for family gatherings, feasting, presents, occasional squabbles, but above all, joy. In the Primary School Christmas was heralded in song and dance in traditional style. This “feast of joy” was held on the 11th and 12th December 2018, and consisted mainly of seasonal songs in different languages. Divided into two parts due to large numbers, the children enjoyed the communal singing in the sports’ hall, which had been transformed by Christmas decorations.

The SWALS children sang and danced wearing traditional costume. Singing, dancing and playing music are not only individual forms of artistic expression, but also contribute towards a community spirit and sense of unity in line with the ethos of the school.

“Cold at Christmas, short the winter and earlier the spring”, says an old German saying. Judging by the current temperatures, there is hope for an early spring.
