Girl's Day 2024!

| News Allgemein

On Thursday 25th of April - Girl’s Day - 52 of our S1, S2 and S3 students were invited to the EPO. After a warm welcome by Roberta Romano-Götsch (EPO chief Sustainability Officer) in the conference hall, they met online with the inventor Carmen Borja (European Awards 2014), one of the minds behind our smartphones.

Many questions were asked. It was a great moment. Followed by a “Let’s go girls: to Infinity and beyond” conference by two ESO young women researchers about planetary atmospheres and supernovae. Another great moment. Our girls had “their eyes in the skies” and asked many questions.

Then four parallel workshops concerned engaging activities to dive into the world of patents, innovation and art.

  1. The EPO, women and inventions through history

  2. Technology as a force for good

  3. Unveiling the world of plastics innovation

  4. Art and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

During the whole day, three main messages were sent out by the EPO organisers to our ESM girls. Believe in yourselves. Nothing is impossible. You are the Future. A tremendous thanks to all our EPO parents and organisers for this fantastic event. These messages were received loud and clear!
