Donation to the Salberghaus

| News Grundschule

Already on 12 December a Christmas market took place in the primary school. All pupils had made little Christmas things, which could be acquired for a donation. Altogether 1450,20 Euro were collected. The proceeds of this Christmas market were now donated to the Salberghaus in Putzbrunn.

On Friday 7 February, the Outreach Programme Coordinator Andreas Haslinger and Geesje Akkerman, Middle Manager in the Primary School and organiser of the Christmas Market, drove to the Salberghaus on behalf of the European School Munich to hand over a symbolic cheque. They were accompanied by three primary school children who had their birthdays during the week: Nils, Anna and Brooke. Mr Dauer, the director of the Salberghaus, was very happy about the visit and the donation.

He welcomed the school children and their companions and told them about the Salberghaus. There live children between the ages of zero and six years, who for various reasons cannot live with their parents. The children are housed in groups of seven children each and stay there for up to one year.  Afterwards there was a guided tour through the building. The students and teachers could see with how much love and attention the children are cared for in the Salberghaus.

Mr. Dauer told that the donation from the primary school will be used to finance a play-salt grotto. There, the children can play like in a sandbox and breathe in the salty air, which should have a positive effect on their health. At the end of the visit Mr. Dauer thanked the visitors once again for their generous donation. The European School Munich is happy to pass on these thanks to everyone who helped to collect the donations.

The "Förderkreis ESM. e.V.", which administers the donations from all the school's existing aid and charitable activities, has recognised the Salberghaus as an institution worthy of support. The fundraising campaign is part of the outreach program of the ESM, which among other things consists of various aid and support offers for charitable purposes.
