Reading weeks in the Primary School

| News Grundschule

Various reading week activities took place in the Primary School of the European School Munich at the end of February and the beginning of March. The English language section started with an online meeting. ESM librarian Vilma Lersch asked the classes to create posters on the importance of reading during lockdown, which are now on display in the library. The school children also made pennants with their favourite books and wrote book reviews and poems about books. Over teams they shared their works and also had fun participating in an online kahoot on the theme of "famous book characters".

The Italian language section organised online reading week and the "Progetto Espressivita". Virtually, author Roberto Piumini and illustrator Monica Rabà, who drew for Puimini's books, visited the classes via Teams video chat and led numerous creative activities.  Roberto Piumini read short stories and poems. Afterwards, the children asked him questions and read out their self-written poems. The illustrator Monica Rabà showed and explained her drawings, led practical exercises on visual art, techniques, colours, and style, and also answered questions from the children.
