Art auction during the "Europe Week"!

| News Allgemein

Perhaps you remember the giant portraits that were made during the very first online courses during the first lockdown of 2020 by as many as 280 students from the ESM art classes? They were exhibited for a while in the glass tunnel above the entrance and at the time many people - colleagues, visitors - asked if they could pick up any of these works to display at home.

As these works are collective works, no one is the exclusive author and could not give the whole work away. But if each person took over his or her participation, they did not make sense either. So we came up with the idea, in collaboration with the Outreach Programm*, of organising an auction during Europe Week, the proceeds of which would go to the good causes supported by the ESM: the Salberghaus in Putzbrunn, the Gesegneter Clementii Sheptytskyi secondary school in the Ukraine, and Haiti Kinderhilfe e.V. and Zinduka - Education against Mutilation in Kenya.

We had the works professionally framed (black wooden frame, protective Plexiglas, wooden back, total size 1.80 x 1.30m) in order to be able to offer high-quality objects to art-loving benefactors. The works are currently to see in the corridor of the Erasmus-Schuman-Monnet rooms (above the Sporthalle, on the 1st floor of the building) and will remain there until a few days before the sale: don't hesitate to go there to admire them more closely and imagine them in your living room, your office or your company!

You now have the opportunity to purchase any of these 5 portraits in two ways:

Either during the online auction which will take place from 2 to 9 May**

Or during the in-person auction which will take place on Wednesday May 10th at 5.30 p.m. in the Sporthalle, just before the concert of the choir and orchestra.

If you yourself do not have the space to exhibit such a great work of art, you can also bid and then offer the work to the person or institution of your choice! You may know people or companies who would be delighted to receive such a gift and this would allow you to be a real part of the Outreach Programm!

Do not hesitate to share the information and spread it by coming to the public auction on 10th of May at 5.30 pm! The flyer with all the information you can find here.
